Our Story
Modern Networks was born from the shared vision of Robert Langdale and Tony Lei, who saw a critical need for advanced wireless network engineering in the increasingly complex public safety, critical infrastructure, and essential services sectors. Robert, inspired by his father, who was a Florida State Trooper, witnessed firsthand the transformative power of technology and communication for first responders. Starting his career deploying cellular-based IoT and networking solutions for public safety and utility customers, Robert’s journey led him to the helm of the professional services division at Sierra Wireless (now Semtech). It was there that he met Tony Lei, a seasoned network engineer with two decades of experience at companies like CenturyLink, Inseego, and Getac. Together, they envisioned a better way to tackle the persistent wireless networking challenges facing the industry.
In 2022, their vision became a reality with the founding of Modern Networks. Today, they are dedicated to delivering Engineered Wireless Reliability that makes critical systems work.

Mike manages the sales team at Modern Networks.
Marc Baudouy
Senior Solutions Architect
Marc is one of the leading wireless engineers in the industry. With 20 years of experience in security, cellular communications, and routers, he has seen almost everything. Growing up in Canada, he would take apart VCRs and other electronics and put them back together, not always successfully. This fascination with how things worked led him to become an install and support specialist at leading mobile VPN software company, Radio IP. He next served on the deployment team at BlueTree Wireless, a manufacturer of cellular modems, where he began to build his expertise in cellular communications. Then he joined InMotion Technology, where he spent 5 years on the deployment team before it was acquired by Sierra Wireless, where he served as the deployment manager for 8 years. Marc has configured devices for numerous large police, fire, and transit projects, many of which have followed him to Modern Networks because of his commitment to their success. Marc’s philosophy is simple, he is not satisfied until the customer is smiling. At Modern Networks, he is an invaluable resource to our customers and often solves problems that no other company has been able to resolve.
